No Rest for the Wicked
The day started early for us, when AB kicked off her blanket at 5:45 a.m. R poked me, I awoke, and looked to see if she was still in bed. I did not see her. I said, "she's up!" He turned on the lamp, which showed her in her pallet, sleeping... until we turned the light on. Then she was wide awake. Gah! We are already paranoid because all that monster has to do is turn the doorknob and she would be outside our room, running down the hall like an escaped convict in yellow stretchy pajamas with pink and green flowers.
So we got ready and were ready to go... hours before anyone else was. It has been overcast and cold the past two days, which almost ruined our Legoland trip. It never really rained, however. After everyone was ready we went down to the hotel restaurant to have breakfast. It was absolutely delicious. Coffee strong, eggs cooked to order, waffles fluffy, pastries homemade, and the fruit peak ripe. AB ate like a little hoss. We were so proud.
After breakfast AB decided to give us a little scare. We went back to the room to get ready to go and I was about to wash her hands. I don't know what I did, but I was distracted for no more than 30 seconds. I said, "AB, where are you I need to wash your hands." Nothing. "AB?" Nothing. Looked in the bathroom. Looked in the living room. Kitchen. No AB. I was out the door. First one direction, running and calling. No AB. Then the other direction, running, full throttle in flip flops down the hall. No AB. Running full throttle back. R's Mom is standing in the hall, terrified. No AB. R takes off in the other direction, has me check the room again. It is only then that I see her little feet sticking out from the other side of the bed. She is laying on her pallet. Call off the search. She was "hiding." I asked her not to do that again. At least I got some good exercise to start off the day.
We made it to Legoland with no trouble (thanks to my directions), got in the door, and were having fun. We rode a little roller coaster first. It was AB's first roller coaster. She LOVED it. It was pretty fast. She loved the speed. Had a blast. We all did. On to more things.
Too much. Cannot blog it all. High points: Great picture on AB's first roller coaster ride. I plan to scan and post it here. There was a robotix coaster with little 4-person cars that scared the bejeebus out of us. Very fun. No hang time on any of the coasters, but acceleration was good on most. Well, the Dragon was kinda lame. Ate some fried apples with whipped cream. Those were strange but good. It was cold. I looked for a windbreaker, but didn't find any I liked. AB loved the little helicopters and planes that she could move up and down on her own. Most everything was perfectly sized for her. It really was the perfect place to take her, and the rest of us acted like kids and had fun, too. By the time we left at around 3:00 we were all starving and exhausted. I was exhausted beyond what was normal, the reason for which made itself evident a bit later.
Lunch/dinner at Chili's. Yuck, but we were glad to have someone suggest something where we knew everyone would find something. I was so exhausted I could barely walk or function. After dinner we went to the front desk to find out about the shuttle to the marathon tomorrow. Much discussion ensued. I ducked out and laid on the bed to rest. R took AB to the pool.
A plan has been made for tomorrow. I am worried about the crowds. We'll see how it goes.
My fatigue? A cold. A fresh, new, spanking newborn fucking cold. I am... less than pleased. We'll see if it's just allergies of some sort or a real cold. I have taken Nyquil. Too late! We'll see. Getting healthy for tomorrow is more important at this juncture.
It was a great day. I am looking forward to tomorrow.
Have a great night.

Coastersaurus! So nice, we did it twice (And bought the pictures both times). We've all had slightly runny noses. We also did the sky view pedal carts, the helicopters, the airplanes, the swinging pirate ship, and back to the Coastersaurus. It was awesomely fun, and Avery was impressively good. Makes me want to keep her worn out at home too, see if it keeps her sweet...
... probably not.
When I was about 4, I hid from my mom once under her bed and fell asleep. Leelee was in very big trouble when she awoke.
