Walk in the Woods

AB is at her Grandma's. We sleep in only a little bit and decide to go for a walk. To both of our surprise, we actually found things to talk about for the first 45 minutes of it.

At one point R asked me, "Do you ever just want to take off into the woods?" I answered, "No, never." We both laughed. I asked, "Do you think that defines the difference between us?" Meaning, I enjoy staying on the path, following along, doing what is expected of me, whereas he enjoys blazing new trails, discovering, doing his own thing, being his own person. He said no, but he is wrong.

The bad part? That was only just over half of the walk. Luckily we both had headphones.

By the time we got back to the car I was hurting. Having walked or run no more than 20 minutes at lunchtime this trek caused me a world of hurt. But I felt 10x stronger for today's walk.

Moral?

I'm retarded?

Yes, that's it.

AB was so sweet today. She came in to see me first thing, snuggling and talking to me and telling me over and over again that she loved me. Such a sweetheart. She was equally sweet when I got home, and we had a really fun day. I know tomorrow she will fight me and argue and not listen, so I will savor this day for as long as I can.

How was your weekend?
