Long Weekend

Due to some strange scheduling and camping trips that were later cancelled, AB went to her grandmother's on Thursday. Today is Saturday.

We miss her, but oh man.

It's been so relaxing.

Doing whatever the fuck we want to do. Dinner out. Errands. Movie tonight.

It was, and is, wonderful, though we miss her dearly. Her grandmother reported that she was unbelievably bad the first day and the visit was nearly cut short.

So, here's an amusing story.

R and I are not religious. At all. We are extremely tolerant of all religions/creeds/beliefs (we think) as long as they're not imposing on us or ours.

R's Aunt bought AB a pink baby bible when she was born. AB found it sometime in the past few months. She loved it. Loved the pink leather binding. Loved that her name was inscribed on it. Loved the thin pages with their gold lining.

One day she asked me to read it to her. I started at the beginning. Genesis 1:1. I struggled through the archaic language and pointless repetition, she quickly became bored and we were done with that.

Now, she sleeps with it.

Oh, the irony.

And tomorrow, tomorrow. She goes to church for the first time with R's family. I can't wait to talk to her about it.

It has begun.

Ramen.
