People Actually Watch Soap Operas?

Seriously. They do. Smart, educated people no less. Normal people. Just seeing one on the television screen makes me ill. The lighting, the makeup, the tripe. Ugh. I do not get it. Please explain this to me.

Is it the hunt for the illicit? Do these characters make bad decisions, lie, cheat, steal, and otherwise set poor examples so "regular" people can live vicariously through them? Is that why people watch romantic comedies, to imagine what it was like when your current love was fresh and new? I get that, but romantic comedies are just plain awful. Except for The Princess Bride. Ahem.

I'm trying not to judge. Because I don't want to be like that. But I don't get it.

Help me.

AB got some "naked time" today. Luckily she did not decide to pee on the carpet like an errant doggie. We're having some trouble with potty training, so more naked time is in order. That or we'll bite the bullet and get her some undies and she can soil them at will. The perfectionist, anal retentive clean freak in me is shrieking with abject terror right now at the mere thought of that. Can you hear her? I'm trying to shut her up.

I've been listening to Amy Winehouse. I kinda like her. She's edgy. And drunk. Can't go wrong with that combination, can you?
