Not With a Bang...

So I'm another year older and at least another year wiser. Possibly two. It's been an amazing year and I've never been happier. At work, at home, everywhere.

Today is my do-whatever-I-want day and it started out with coffee with a friend. It was fun. For lunch we go to a restaurant called Tossed before going to buy new running shoes. R would make all kinds of innuendos about that name but I'm going to leave that alone for now.

There was an incredibly cute employee at the register and I gave him a huge smile. Later I tried to tip him and the dollar wouldn't stay in the cup. I said, "It doesn't want to stay with you. I don't know why not!" I'm so funny. He was that cute, though.

And yes, before you get your puritanical panties in a bunch I told my husband all about it and we laughed and bonded. So bite me.

Then we went over to look at running shoes. Mine are wearing out and have a big hole at the left toe. R had nearly worn through his soles. He is hard on running shoes. He buys the exact same thing and doesn't even try them on. I try on several pair and run up and down their little test strip, finally settling on the familiar Saucony Oasis, pictured above. In such a beautiful blue color. I want to wear them for the 5-mile long run tomorrow but I'll wait until later to break them in. If they give me a blister I don't want to find out about it three miles from home.

Then we went to a chocolatier to buy me a bunch of dark chocolates. Mmmm. Delicious. Little Z was so good through all of this. She is amazing.

So this wasn't a funny blog post but at least you were bored by the listing of Shit I Did Today. What an amazing birthday.
