The Warrior and the Wise Man

R bought AB this book a while back. We both love it. I won't give away the punch line (moral), but it's about tempering strength with knowledge. (Do you think our current administration could use that advice? Talk amongst yourselves.) The wise brother visits the five element demons (water, fire, wind, earth, air) and seeks a sampling from each.

So we're at Famous Dave's (gawd I wish we could stop going there... mmmm Devil's Spit) and they're out of kids menus. They give us two blank sheets of paper. I ask AB, "Do you want me to draw something that you can color in?" She says:

"Yes. A water demon."

What. The. Fuck. That is so amazingly awesome on roughly 200 scales. Amazing child.

And for the record, I did, and it was passable. R even complimented it, and he is never superfluously complimentary.

No run yesterday or today. I am purposely healing and recharging after two weeks of training. Tomorrow - it's on, baby!

Go. You are dismissed.

omg you wrote water demon text into a post and the depend adult undergarment ads came back. They like you.

you don't have to sketch one.

Hey Seriously Amber this is some wicked nice Kata here. Did you know that there is no review, yet for the book you're talking about on Amazon?

If you've read it can you post a review there.

I m thinking i have read GOLEM once, and it was really good. I think I remember it was kind of sad. Kind of like Maurice Sendaks other book, I forgot the name - about the house and the person that was there even though all of time had changed. Can't remember what it is .

Any comment about the administration, hey - I will put my money on the water demon rather than a lame duck any day.

(back of the bus, waldo)
