Tragedy at Virginia Tech. I have no new insight into the situation, no words of comfort for the parents and colleagues who grieve. I do hope for a special kind of eternal burning hell for the person who inflicted this suffering upon them. Times like these I wish I believed in things like eternal burning hells.
Please pause for two minutes and reflect upon 32 lives lost. 32 smiles; 32 unique laughs. 32 favorite foods; 32 inny-or-outty belly buttons. 32 first steps. 32 lovers, 64 shoes without an owner. 32 full voice mailboxes. 32 purposeless house keys. 32 Mommies. 32 Daddies. 64 broken hearts. 32 senseless deaths.
32.
This 32 does not include the gunman. He is not mourned. His name will not be listed here, as there is no glory or attention for him. That the media chooses to tout his face and name is not my concern.
Now go read some political commentary from BSUWG.

Hey thanks for the link! I see you're a runner from Georgia--both cool things. I run 3 miles every other day, with a 6-miler every so often just to mix it up. I'm the same way--miss a run and I get all edgy. As for the Georgia thing, I was born in Ft. Benning, so I've always liked Georgia, though I'm now a northeasterner.
